I am not a U.S. citizen, just an onlooker, but ask why are so many intelligent people criticising Biden while overlooking Trump? Do we take it for granted that Trump is a liar, but we expect Mr Biden to be top stuff all the time? Is that realistic?
Are we just used to Trumpcrap.org and expect the mob boss thing?
Like others, I watched the debate and yes, Mr Biden looked ghostly pale and uncertain of his next point, but he is no pushover. All this emphasis on his age riles me up because he is only a couple of years older than his adversary, the felon, yet it makes all the difference to the critics. Do people now want the celebrity, the image, but no substance.
So, Mr Biden didn’t speak well on the night but look at what he has achieved during his presidency: https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2024-opinion-biden-accomplishment-data/
Do people really think that three years are outweighed by ninety-minutes? Are we so geared to screens that a short talk has more persuasive power than slow, steady work towards a better USA economy?
Yes, Mr Biden mumbled, jabbered, and rambled. Yes, he looked stunned a couple of times. Yes, his eyes now look like raisins. So what?
Unless a taste for misanthropes has germinated, what is the alternative?
