Australia is watching…
Trump managed to attend the G7 for twelve hours. I suppose if one is surrounded by lackeys, who lie, grovel and kowtow 24/7, it must have been daunting for him to be among real people.
The man reminds me of a child attending a birthday party, only to find his little, thuggy gang’s not there. He had to plod carefully so as not to trip over that pout. Difficult when he leans like Pisa.
The fact that he avoided a meeting with the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, despite recently enjoying a warm phone call, says a lot about Trump’s lack of character.
It wasn’t even transactional. He offered nothing to G7, except a spectacle.
Hegseth spoke in Singapore recently and demanded that Australia increases defence spending by at least $40 B. Of course, he whipped up the old war against China gambit to frighten us into compliance.
Prime Minister Albanese stated that Australia will shape its own defence policy, thank you.
Australia needs to ensure veterans are looked after and respected first. We treat them with honour and the DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) provides mental and physical care for widows and widowers as well. $40 B will affect that responsibility.
