It was a funeral, not a Trumpfest

Someone should alert the media..

Jimmy Carter’s funeral was a recent event, but you could be forgiven if you missed it. Do we have to follow Trump in the media these days to discover what is going on in wider society?

I watched a couple of short grabs and looked at the photos like most people did, but what was reported?

Oh look, Donald hasn't put his hand on his heart!

Wow, Donald keeps talking to Barack Obama — why doesn’t he stop?

Gee, look at Melania’s face!

What’s Melania wearing? Has a bird pooped on her collar?

Is Melania considering becoming the abbess at a convent?

Look at her high heels.

Gosh, Trump was snubbed by this one, and that one’s face is so grim.

And just where is Michelle? That looks bad, doesn’t it?

Where were the plaudits for the man being buried? You know, the one who was the centre of the funeral service? And his family — why weren’t they centre stage in the media’s attention span?

Everywhere you look, it’s Trump this, Trump that. Even in Australia! Isn’t anyone else newsworthy? The media makes him more important than he has a right to be. Why does the media continue to kowtow so rapidly?

Yes, he makes money for them, I know, but when will someone develop a spine and say, No.

Whether you agree or disagree with Jimmy Carter’s presidency, he was the president and had an illustrious career before that. He reached the age of 100 — not a mean feat. The media’s attention needed to be on him, not what audience members were doing and not doing, wearing or not wearing. Tht would have been patriotic.
