Thank you for sharing what I regard as real trauma. The cockroaches, checking the pantry, eating less created insecurity and struggle. They can be turned into challenges as you have done. I am glad you are a teacher because you have greater understanding of your students' backgrounds. I share many of your experiences and became a teacher too.
